Tuesday May 1st, 2012 - Annapolis May Day and Naval Academy and lunch at Buddy's
We will start the day with a walking tour of the Annapolis Naval Academy to see the history, architecture and traditions of the Academy as well as particulars on midshipman life.
We then head into town where for May Day many of the homes and businesses celebrate Spring with flower baskets on their front doors. This tradition originated in Rome in 238 B.C. and was revived here in 1956.
Will will have the Seafood Lunch Buffet at Buddy's before letting you have time on your own to shop and explore the city and docks. Depart Astro Shopping Center- Kirkwood Hwy Newark-8:30am We will leave Annapolis at 3:30 to return. cost: $69 includes roundtrip transportation, Academy tour and seafood buffet.
Sunday, May 6, 2012 - Peddler’s Village Strawberry Fest
Craftspeople gather to show their wares & demonstrate their skills. Enjoy a variety of strawberry treats including chocolate dipped strawberries, pastries, strawberry shortcake, jam and fritters. Take home strawberries too. Live entertainment and strawberry pie-eating contests add to the enjoment of this traditional Spring celebration.
