Sunday Sept. 11, 2011 - Arthur Avenue Bronx's Italian Festival Ferragosto 2011 (NYC)
This isn’t your average Italian street fair; it is not filled with outside vendors that come in, setup shop for the day and then disappear into the night. This event is something much more personal. This is a true display of Italian pride; and a true display of community and camaraderie that you seldom see or feel at a street fair in a city of this size. The majority of the “street” vendors at this event were actually neighborhood businesses.
The Arthur Avenue Retail Market - a kind of covered Italian bazaar that brings together under one roof all the shopping also found on nearby streets, from sausage makers to bread bakers, cafe's to florists. The variety is truly staggering - all told some nine restaurants, five pastry shops, four butchers, two pasta-makers, six bread stores, three pork stores, five gourmet delicatessens, two fish markets, three gourmet coffee shops and one gourmet Italian wind shop - to list only the food category. And then there are the gift and house ware shops.

Sunday September 11, 2011 - NYC Hell's Kitchen Flea Market and Food Trucks

On THIS day, This won't your average Flea Market day in NYC. Saturday September 24, 2011 - Food Truck Sampling and Awards
On Governors Island in NYC - NYC’s premier street food showcase and an intense cook-off between the best sidewalk chefs – as well as one of the city’s most beloved and widely anticipated food events!. All you can eat food from the food trucks and includes beer,w ine and soda too. Plan your day right and start at the festival below then head to the Vendy Awards for the 12:30-5PM even. Finalists arrive with their carts and prepare their best eats for Vendy attendees and judges. Beer and wine will be plentiful, with tables and chairs for the food-weary. There will be music, performances, and a raffle, culminating in a short ceremony naming the award winners! Please wear comfortable shoes.
